Guys…It’s NATIONAL POPCORN DAY!!!
If you know me at all, or follow me on Snapchat (kay_bush), you know I have a serious obsession with popcorn. Like serious. I’m not talking about that gross nasty processed sugar filled stuff you put in the microwave, or the kind you get with fake butter at the movie theatre. I’m talking 100% real deal, non GMO, insanely delicious popcorn. I like to experiment with my popcorn, but my go-to is just plain popcorn with some himalayan or sea salt on top. Bomb.com
FYI popcorn contains iron, protein, antioxidants, fiber, and is low in calories.
So anyways, when my girlfriend Claudia texted me today letting me know it was NPD (Can we make this a thing?), I knew I just HAD to post a delicious popcorn recipe. I can’t take full credit for this one though, someone tagged me in the recipe video on Facebook the other day, and literally 2 seconds later I was pulling out my popcorn maker. Recipe is adapted from Tastemade.
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
Directions: I make my popcorn in this airpop machine with some coconut oil and it turns out perfectly every time, if you don’t have one you can always pop your popcorn on the stovetop (directions here). Place your popcorn in a large bowl and squeeze the lime evenly over top, add chopped cilantro, then sprinkle sea salt and your done! So easy and so good!
Okay, this got me in the mood for popcorn so I’m going to celebrate National Popcorn Day the only way I know how…eating too much popcorn & I’ll seriously need a workout after I’m done.
