Healthy Travel Snacks To Throw In Your Bag

Feb 7

Hey guys!

I’m off traveling again, spending the week in North Carolina for work. It will be a very busy week and with my schedule I will not have the autonomy to eat whenever and where ever so I have to be prepared! Prepared for me means having the right snacks and fuel so I do not make poor eating choices when it comes to meals.  Ever been “so busy with work” or “so hangry” that your eyes get bigger than your stomach and you end up ordering 1000x things on the menu you didn’t even need, instead of the right food to fuel your body? YUP that’s what I’m avoiding!

I’ve broke down my favorite travel snacks that are great when traveling.  You can easily throw them in your purse or gym bag!  These can be whipped out whenever you need a boost, or simply want to fulfill a craving in a more healthy way to avoid binge eating or making poor decisions later.  Keep in mind these are my non perishable snacks, ones that don’t need to be refrigerated.  I of course love opting for fresh food, and more than likely will have an avocado in my purse at any given moment, but these are spefific products that you can keep in your bag, car, office and not worry about it going bad in a short amount of time.

  • Gluten & Dairy Free
  • No added sugar (or VERY little coconut sugar/stevia)
  • HIGH QUALITY AND REAL INGREDIENTS: Ingredients as if I was making it at home aka nothing I can’t pronounce
  • High in good fats
  • Organic/Non Gmo when possible

That’s it, nothing crazy. I just like to keep my snacks clean and low in sugar to not spike my blood sugar levels.  When that happens it can actually make you more hungry! I look for snacks that have good fats and natural forms of protein (i.e. almonds) to curb food cravings and fill me up a bit.  For snacks a bit sweeter I look for fruits lower in sugar such as blueberries.  But…I can’t emphasize enough the fact that when choosing snacks – always, always, always look at ingredients first!!  Make sure you are eating ACTUAL FOOD and not just a chemical concoction.

In the video below I share what I am actually bringing on this specific trip.  I have provided all the links below for you as well as additional snacks I typically bring with me!  Enjoy!
