I’ve been super into cold therapy lately. Remember when I talked about ice cube facials and all the benefits?

Well let’s just say I’ve been doing a bit more than that.  I upgraded my inflammation fighting and collagen boosting cold therapy obsession to standing in a chamber set to -150 degrees F.  Yes, that’s a thing.  It’s called cryotherapy…and it’s AMAZING!

Who Loves Freezing Their Butts Off For 3 Minutes?

Many major athletes, professional dancers, celebrities, and people suffering from autoimmune disorders swear by the anti-aging, performance enhancing, and healing results that occur from Cryotherapy. Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Daniel Craig, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Alicia Keys, and Yolanda Hadid are all avid cryo-goers.

…I mean Mark Cuban is the one who made cryotherapy a thing in US in the first place.  It was invented in Japan in the 1970s, spread across Europe, and then finally came to the us in 2011.  Mark Cuban had the entire Dallas Mavericks team use it throughout pre season and the basketball season of 2011.  That is the year the Mavericks won the NBA Championship and were the oldest team to do so…coincidence?  Who knows, but that certainly had my attention!

Not only does cryotherapy have TONS of benefits, it also gives you a post-cryo HIGH.  Think a runner’s high, but greater!  Seriously, this is better than a morning coffee.

I’ve been going to Chiltonic in San Diego, CA for a few weeks now and I’m definitely cryo-addicted. Matthew and Gretchen Bergman are the owners of Chiltonic, and the first to bring cryotherapy to San Diego!  They now have 3 locations: La Jolla, Hillcrest, and Encinitas.  Their clientele is anyone and everyone that wants to experience the incredible results and benefits of cryotherapy! I sat down with cryp-expert Matthew Bergman (who is an avid surfer and was an extreme sports athlete in BMX Freestyle for 20 years) to talk ALL THINGS CRYOTHERAPY!  Check out my video below as I interview Matthew and also try out cryotherapy for the first time!  Special guest star, my husband Matt also tries it out!

    Hi Kayleigh

I haven’t tried cryotherapy, but would really love to try. I think the benefits of it is really worth to experience cryotherapy. I always used beauty products for skin care and other things, but for this cryotherapy got it all. Thank you for sharing such important ideas.

    Hi Kayleigh,

After you have done Cryotherapy what are the things you should or shouldn’t do? Do you have to avoid any products or what? I so love to try because of the abundant benefits. Thanks!

Hi Wendy! Post cryotherapy is AMAZING and you can just go about your day as normal. There are benefits to working out beforehand but also afterwards as well. You will get a slight burst of energy so you may want to do something active. I notice I am more focused after so getting to work is great for me.
